Sparkidz is a social and recreational program designed for children with learning differences ages 6 through 21 at the PS 6 The Lillie Devereaux Blake School. Sparkidz programming is open to children of all abilities and backgrounds. We offer spaces for diverse activities including art, cooking, sports and performing arts every Saturday, from 10:30am to 3:30pm, September through June.
Sparkidz’ mainstream activities enhance self-esteem and offer life enriching experiences for children affected by social, emotional or learning challenges including those with autism spectrum disorders. Through our uniquely designed recreational programming each child is offered opportunities to help build friendships, develop self-confidence and experience success.
The Sparkidz’ staff includes teaching artists, certified educators and development professionals. We partner with Camp Ramapo for Children for staff training. Staff are chosen for their experience, kindness and commitment to children with special challenges.
